I would envision a one-day meeting, possibly in Manhattan, possibly
in or
around February 2007. It would be a chance for us users to get to
know each
other, to learn about new NetWorker-related offerings and to
express our
concerns to the product managers. There would be presentations, but
also a
back-and-forth session similar to the NetWorker "birds of a feather"
sessions at EMC World. And as much of the NetWorker roadmap as EMC is
willing to share.
Would anyone be interested in attending such a meeting?
During a meeting with several Legato product managers and other
specialists, I mentioned this idea. This meeting took place only two
or three months after EMC acquired Legato. They were all for it. I
was asked to contact certain people at EMC about starting up a group
in my area (Philadelphia). I did that, but nothing ever came of it. I
would definitely like to join a NetWorker Users Group, but only if it
was local to the Philadelphia area. Hell, I could probably host the
group's meetings if there is enough interest in it.
