In regard to: [Networker] LTO3 on Windows Networker v7.1.3B404, Shawn Cox...:
Is anyone on this list using LTO3 drives on Networker v7.1.3b404? I am
about to convert from LTO2 to LTO3 in a couple of weeks, but I do not see
Ultrium 3 as a media option in this version of Networker.
That's what drove us to switch from 7.1.x to 7.2.x (7.2.2). 7.2.2 has
been at least as stable for us as 7.1.3 build 421 was.
You can of course continue to use 7.1.3 and just define your drives as
lto2 devices even though they're lto3. Your volumes will get an lto2
type in your media database. When you later convert to 7.2.x or
some later version and recreate your jukebox/drives as LTO3, you may
have trouble using your "lto2" volumes until they've been relabelled
(which you'll probably have to force), but there are things you can do to
ease the transition.
