I've heard the next version will have support (7.3.2?)

>From what I understand, the worst problem is that when previous versions
of the save program hit a ZFS filesystem, they try to gather ACL
information.  They can't deal with the response and quit.  Unfortunate.
Other backup programs have simply gone on without the ACL information.

Otherwise you need to run an intermediate program to generate a blob of
data (tar, zfs send, etc.) rather than allowing networker to run the
tree itself.
