No need for such drastic measures -- there is a command-line parameter built
in to do exactly this.  I am home sick today and do not remember what
letter, I think p or P.  Go rtfm -- it will be there.

You could try setting a value for NSR_TMPDIR in your environment then
restarting the NetWorker service. No promises...
