Yes I am american and speak English, save the sarcasm.

What is wrong with the word "Popular" I spelled it correctly. If that is
what you meant, then you are the one who cannot spell english! I guess the
Marines didnt help you spell.

anyway what I mean to ask was I am thinking of using either LTO2 or DLT 1
tapes, which is more popular?
Is one better than the other?

I am a legato expert so I dont need a contractor's help, I used to do
Backup/DR consulting for years in NYC. No need to try and overwhelm me with
your questions that do not pertain to my posting.

I have always used LTO for the past few years and was wondering about DLT,
is it better or worse or the same? Which is more popular?

Thanks

PS - looks like your logo is spelled wrong too, here is the correct
version, that is embarassing!

Popular? I am assuming by your message that English is not your fist
language. If it is not than bravo you have done a good job and we can
make out what you are saying here.

Back-up Media should be based on the backup or archive mission.

How much data are you backing up?

How fast (in time) do you need it backed up?

How long (years) do you need to access the backup data (shelf life)?

How fast do you need to restore the data?

How critical is the data, if you lost it all due to media failure would
they kill the messenger?

Finally what is your budget?

Is the current budget realistic based on your answers to the above
questions...

Decribe your environment and give us an idea what you need to get done.

On the other hand I am probably taking the job of a contractor who could
come out and design a solution for you.
