Hi Kazuhito,

For cloning operation, networker acts using following logic:

For the SSID that must be cloned, it will look at where the source
tape is located (Jukebox) and use the jukebox's read host attribute
for the cloning-read-part of the clone process if the volume
is not mounted.

Then it will look at client's clone storage node affinity
and will check, as top down preferency order, for a storage node
to use for the cloning-write-part of the clone process and
will finaly issue a media request.

So, in your case, I would suggest to check :
        1) client's clone storage node affinity
        2) check the read-host attribute of the jukebox (if any)

HTH

//Th

Read Hostname - The hostname that is used in selecting a
storage node for recover and read-side clone requests.
For recover requests, if the required volume is not mounted,
and the client's "storage nodes" attribute does not match
one of the owning hosts in the jukebox, then this attribute
is used. For clone requests, if the required volume is not
mounted, then this attribute is used.

---------------------

Storage Nodes - Use this field to specify which NetWorker
server or storage node machines are authorized to accept
data from this client during backup and other operations.
The primary NetWorker server for the client is the
first entry, by default, "nsrserverhost". Before specifying
additional storage node machines, you must first install the
storage node software on the machine. (If a jukebox is to be
configured, then run jbconfig on the storage node.) The term
"curphyhost" (current physical host) is a reserved keyword
that a user can enter into the storage node list of a virtual
client. The "curphyhost" keyword directs the virtual client
backup to the storage node on the physical node on which the
virtual client currently resides.

The hostname entered in the Storage Nodes attribute need
not match the hostname used in configuring the remote
device for the storage node. For example, if the
remote device is defined as "rd=mars:device_path" and the
storage node host has another network interface of "mars_2",
you could enter either "mars" or "mars_2" in the Storage
Nodes attribute and be assured that the client will bind
to that host, rather than the one specified for the storage
node's remote device configuration.

Clone Storage Nodes - This is an ordered list of storage nodes
that the storage node uses when its data is being cloned.
Cloned data originating from the storage node is directed
to the first storage node that has an enabled device and a
functional media daemon (nsrmmd). There is no default value
assigned to this attribute.

Kind regards - Bien cordialement - Vriendelijke groeten,

Subject: [Networker] Taking Clone on Storage Node

Hi, All

Please help me configure Storage Node.
I want to take backup and clone on same storage node.
But, when I start to clone, it does not start look for strage node.
It look at networker server and waiting for new label tape even though
the labeled tape is at storage node.
When I label a tape on networker server, it works fine.
So, I figure the setting must be wrong.
Please help me to setup clone on storage node.

Regards,
Kazuhito
