Hello,

Environment:

Networker Server: 7.2.2. on Windows 2003.

We tried to restore some files on the client. got this message:

We opened a call with EMC Networker and I just want to share the response with
you in case someone else got the same issue:

"LGTpa79050 (referenced by Support Note 72421) refers to an issue
where, When using winworkr GUI to perform recoveries, random files will fail
with "must be owner" message, even though the person performing the recovery is
a member of Domain Admins, Backup Operators, and, in some cases, also is the
owner of the file. However, performing the same recovery from the command line
for the same file(s) works without problems.

According to our internal documentation, LGTpa79050 was ultimately
found to be a Windows-specific issue related to OFM.

However, it was addressed initially by a hotfix from EMC and ultimately
(according to our internal documentation) by a fix from Microsoft in their
upcoming OS release (Vista) and also Windows 2003.

The hotfix binaries for LGTpa79050 were produced for NetWorker 7.2
only; they do *not* appear to have made it into 7.2.2.

It also appears The hotfix binaries will be available in the Next
release of Networker (7.3.1); release date is not available at this time.

So, we downgraded our client from 7.2.2 to 7.2 and applied the hotfix
LGTpa79050. It solved the problem.

Now my question is: How come a hotfix that was issued after 7.2 was not
included in 7.2.1, 7.2.2 and 7.3???

Regards,
