Re: [Networker] Issues with clients - RPC error: Unable to send
2006-05-08 23:58:52
Hi,
This problem could have multiple reasons. Try the following -
1. Update /etc/hosts with IP, hostname & fully qualified domain name
for each client both on server as well as client.
2. Ensure ping works between this client & server both ways.
3. Update the Client resource Aliases field with IP, Hostname & FQDN
for the client.
4. Restart Remote Execution service on client.
5. Try using the command - save -s {server} {filename}.
This error is a communication link failure between the client and the
server. You should also ensure that the NIC for both the server & client are
set at the Actual speed rather than Auto mode Ex. Full Duplex, 100MBps etc.

Subject: [Networker] Issues with clients - RPC error: Unable to send
We have a new networker installation and are getting this error message on
numerous clients
Server
NW7.2.1 running on Solaris 10
Clients
Windows 2003, Windows 2000
On a particular drive we get
[server name]:D:\ 1 retry attempted
[server name]:D:\ save: RPC error: Unable to send
[server name]:D:\ aborted due to inactivity
Any clues?
