Yes you could do a recover -S on the target machine but be aware that it
wont do file deletions that have occurred since the full. So its not
perfect...

I think you'll find if you do the catch-up using rsync with --delete it
will be much better... Also worth specifying -z for compression.

Hello,

Is it possible to recover *only* the files that were backed up in an
incrmental backup?

Here's my situation. I have to migrate data from one machine to another,
and my best option may turn out to be restoring from tape.  Since I'de
like to reduce my downtime, I would like to try this method:
- do a full backup of old machine
- restore full backup to new machine while old machine is still in
production
- take old machine out of production and do incremental
- restore only the data that was changed and is on the incremental to
the new machine.

Is this possible?
