OK, but I'm not sure I understand why this group is giving me problems.  I
had the same configuration for a different group of clients, and it didn't
do this before.  Can you explain where the index/bootstrap is getting the
retention policy of Decade?

Regardless, if there is a workaround, I'm game.  Option 1 doesn't sound
appealing, because I'd like to have the index backup.  Option 2 doesn't
really work for me with the way I have pools set up.  Option 3 seems OK, but
how is this done, and is there any downside?
