Hello Olaf,

You can probably eliminate this problem through one of these steps:

1. Be sure that each Exchange Server saves to one NetWorker Storage Node.
If a Full goes to one, and an incremental or differential to another, this
problem can occur.

2. Do scheduled backups at Storage Group level. Do not regularly schedule
backups of individual Databases.

Hope that this helps,
_Scott

Subject: [Networker] cannot recover differential exchange backup

Hi,

when I recover our Exchange 2000 server to a test machine, I only get the
data from the full backups, the differential/level 1 backup cannot be
restored.

I set the client's debug level to 2 and got this at the end of the recovery:

Can somebody tell me what this means?

In contrast to a recovery of a full backup, I had to do a "eseutil /cc /t"
today before mounting the databases, and the youngest data in the databases
is of about 10am - that is the time our last full backup had finished.

Is it perhaps better to run incremental backups? What we want is to backup
the transaction logs hourly so that we would lose only one hour of data at
maximum.

Olaf
