First off, let me say that I have been fighting with this since March
2005.
It has only gotten better since I had a upper level engineer get
involved. He ran a webex session and changed the way that the HBAs and
Scalar were mapped. I have 10 drives shared between 6 servers, so I
have 60 instances of tape drives that I have to reconfigure when there
is a problem. Use jbedit, it will save you a ton of time.
You need to make sure that your Scalar has the lastest firmware.
Have ADIC make sure that all your HBAs and Scalar mappings are correct.
Make sure you are restarting your Scalar correctly.
I still have issues, but they swap in groups instead of all over the
place.

Subject: [Networker] JBCONFIG_i2K Problems
Hello,
I am having hard time configuring server (Windows 2003-64 bit-Dell PE
6850).
Windows keeps rearranging Drive order ( IBM-LTO2) after drivers are
loaded, i see that the Networker 7.2.1 does not like the drive order
which i create and i have problems with backups, recover ( even though
the tape required for restore are inventoried and avallable in the lib,
they are not being loaded automatically.
Is there better commands or utilities that can quiry drive order,
Jbconfig can run under. Need immediate Help our enviroment.
i2K-LTO2.
CDI Flag set to Not used.
