I used to use a bulk eraser that worked well with DLT IV tapes..this
is a good way to go to remove the networker labels and block size
from the other server.

For SDLT it did not work as well with the bulk erased tapes sometimes
having problems (write errors) as the bulk erasing didn't always clobber
the SDLT calibration track.

A long erase is best although a shorter erase such as:

cat somewhat_large_file >/dev/rmt/0   would also wipe the Networker label
and should write at the higher density and block size.
