We only lose the Location tag for user-defined settings. The default "L700"
is persistent on reboot. But that doesn't help because it's the ones
we set ourselves that are required.

Is there something that needs to be set somewhere to lock these values in,
I wonder?

I'm surprised that such an oversight in the software could exist
across so many versions. I guess it is time to log a bug.

Hmmm, that is the outcome I am expecting also, but I have to give it
a try.... We didn't want to have to maintain a separate database if
possible, given the volume mangement tools in Legato already....
