I worked with Commvault many years ago (1996),  I can't imagine the product
being anything like it was then (backup up to optiical disk, one full with
incrementals after that, based on cpio).

It won the "best backup software" award in the survey article in the
September 05 Storage Magazine.  On the survey graph its almost off the
scale for "product features"; beating out all other enterprise backup 
products.

Sounds like it warrants serious consideration.
