I am running the Linux client on a RedHat 4 machine, with rpm
lgtoclnt-7.1.3-1. Unlike my Red Hat 3 machines, there is a /sys directory
which is getting backed up, which seems similar to the /proc directory. I
get errors such as the following when backups occur:
* rnduscrlinux01:/sys save: Warning inode number changed for
/sys/devices/platform/i8042/serio0/detach_state may not be recoverable

What is the proper way to work around this?

RedHat 4 is not supported by NetWorker 7.1.3 ; it is in 7.2.1. Installing a 7.2.1 client on your RedHat machine would avoid these errors.

On the other hand, a client with NetWorker 7.2.1 with a server at 7.1.3 is not a supported configuration either.

For what it's worth, that's what I do anyway, while my servers are in 7.1.3. I guess there is a less of a risk of incompatibility between both releases of NetWorker than between 7.1.3 and the new kernel, libraries, filesystems or whatever included in RHEL 4.
