Retention and browse periods are part of the saveset, so all copies of
it share the same time.

I've done some post-processing to handle this before.  Basically I would
re-implement some of the 'nsrim' functionality.

Create the client and set it to use the longer period for its backups.
Then do your cloning as you want.

Periodically for each volume in the shorter-lived pool, find all the
save sets and calculate if they've passed their special retention time.
If everything on a volume has, you can delete or relabel the volume.

Marking the volume recyclable isn't very good.  It used to mark all the
savsets on the volume recyclable, including any copies of them on other
volumes.  I don't know if that behavior has changed recently.
