What if the direct attached SCSI jukebox is attached to the
Legato Server instead of the NAS server?

In the following basic NDMP configuration:

         NDMP
    |-------------|
NAS w/NDMP Legato
Support Server
                  |-------direct attached
                          SCSI tape jukebox

Does the tape jukebox have to support NDMP?
Or can it be a non-NDMP SCSI jukebox?

No, the jukebox does not have to support NDMP. You have a choice of how to
connect the robotic arm. It can get attached to the NAS server's SCSI
controller or the backup server's SCSI bus. When you run jbconfig, you will
choose which one it is. I think the choices are SCSI or NDMP jukebox (it
has been a while).

Either will work. I preferred to have it attached to the server, on its own
SCSI controller.

The tape drives that you attach to the SCSI card in the NAS server and
configured as NDMP tape drives.

I think that NetWorker wants to send the bootstrap information to a non
NDMP tape drive, at least in 7.1.1, do you have one available?

Hope it helps.
