You are right ;-)

Have you ever thought of using recover to obtain the information needed ?
I developed a similar thing a few years ago and all I used was recover.
If I remember correctly I did not need mminfo or nsrinfo, or even to know
the SSID.

Ernie

Subject: [Networker] Extracting information from Networker

We are in the process of building a restore interface and have been able
collect some basic data from Networker, but we are looking to get some other
information out of Networker that I know is available, I just dont know how
to get it.

We are collecting file level information to feed to a command line recover
command (basically we are recreating the restore interface with security
wrappers for a web interface) using mminfo in combination with nsrinfo. We
have been able to collect save
set id information for a specific client, feeding that to nsrinfo to get a
listing of files and the file size. What we are looking to get the date
created and date modified property for each file.

Is this possible, what command would that information come with, and or what
flags/options do I need to use.

Here is what we have currently.

This give use the SSID for a client or a specified period(please forgive the
variables:

mminfo -q "client=$client, !incomplete, savetime>=01/01/01"

then we are getting the file list, size, savetime, out of this command.

nsrinfo -xc, -Vt $nsavetime $client

Maybe I don't understand what information is being captured.

Colums included in the output:

objects,client,savetime2,savetime1,name-space,file-name,size,off,app1,app2

Deffinitions:
Object: Number of objects/files in the saveset
Client: Duh!!
Savetime2: date and time backed up in Ctime
Savetime1: date and time backed up in standard format
Names-Space: Not sure
File-Name: Path and name for directories and files
Size: Size of file
Off: Not sure. I know the deffinition is offset within the
saveset. Offset of what?

App1 & App2: Don't care!!!

I know we are not the first to do this, any help would be appriciated.

Thanks,
James Dean
