Is the problem you are referring to that nsrd is reporting
"no tape label found" when you know darned well that there is a label
on the tape. And is this a Linux machine? If yes, I can relate the
long long history of this problem and how I work around it. (This problem
is with AIT drives but I don't know if it is also true for other types.
