Thanks for your response.
There is no problem with changing hostnames for a license even on the Sun site.
It's the 'name/label' of the license that does not match with what Rman is
looking for.
Any ideas regarding that?

thank you
atif

Hello,

We have had some luck getting auth, and enabler codes changed via the web site.
  Try going =>   http://www.legato.com/support/licensing/licpandm.htm

Click current customer, You will need you're Site, and Contact numbers.
We recently had all our license codes re generated to change to a new host id
on out networker server with out ever dealing with anyone in licensing.
There are several options for things you can do. One may do what you're
looking for.

Thanks - Dave

Subject [Networker] RMAN and Networker License Name

Legato Networker's database module for Oracle is a licensed product that
I have installed.
The licensed name is "Networker Module of Oracle, UNIX Client/1"
whereas Oracle 10g RMAN product looks for the name "Networker Module for
Oracle/1".
Sun Tech Support told me that the name with Unix Client/1 is a new
naming convention.
Sun Licensing told me that that name is embedded in the enabler code so
only a sales rep can have the code re-generated.

A run-around basically.

Has anyone else on this forum experienced this problem and is there a
way through rman perhaps to fool it into accepting the new name of the
license?
Thank you all.

Versions are:
Solaris 9 (on client and server)
Legato Networker Solstice Backup 6.1.4.Build.562
Oracle 10g

Response from Licensing:

>I am not sure which form you filled out or to what group it was sent
but our center only has the ability to generate authorization codes. We
cannot alter the product information that is tied into the license
enabler code. If you received the wrong product you would need to do a
return or exchange through your point of sale. Otherwise, you would
need to contact Technical Support if the product is correct and won't
install/run for you.

Thank you,

I filled out the form in your email but have not heard from Sun
about it.
To reiterate, basically all I need is for Sun to regenerate the
following license with the new name given below.
If anyone knows of a way to fool 'rman' into looking for the existing
licensed name, please let me know.
Thank you.

New Name Required: NetWorker Module for Oracle/1
Existing Name: NetWorker Module for Oracle, UNIX Client/1
