I'm trying right now, but I'm getting the following message when I start a
backup:

media warning: /dev/rmt/0ubn moving: fsf 16: I/O error

I really think that Legato is confused with this tape.

Thanks
Vincent

Hello,

Have you tried changing the mode on the tape back to amendable?

Thanks - Dave

We use a Spectralogic T-950, with 8 LTO drives. While the drives and
library are different, he is experiencing the same exact symptoms. It
took
quite a few phone calls between Legato and Spectralogic to figure it out.

What type of library? Firmware level?

We had a similar problem about a year ago, and it turns out that there was
a
problem with the firmware on our tape library. It was allowing the tape
drive to reset itself in the middle of writing. It took several dumps of
the tape library to find it.

Not sure if your problem is the same, just something to look at.

Hello,

This is my config:

SunOS lau-backup2-b 5.9 Generic_117171-05 sun4u sparc SUNW,Sun-Fire-280R
Patch: 113277-24 SunOS 5.9: st, sd and ssd Patch
Sun StorEdge(TM) Enterprise Backup 7.2.Build.172 Network Edition/35
Storagetek Library L80 with Quantum SDLT320 drives firmware rev 80, SCSI
LVD

I often get the following messages:

It can happen on any drive and with new or used tapes. The tapes are
labeled
always the same way.
I know that this is a known issue, but nobody (Sun, Sunmamagers, Google)
has
been able to provide a solution yet.

TIA for your replies
