mmrecov ist certainly not the right way for this issue.
Use mminfo to find out on which tapes the savesets have been written,
then use "scanner -I" to get the information back in our clients online
index.

If you can find out the bootstrap information you can probably use  
mmrecov to restore the index for that tape.
