Wow, 1.7gb/hour - a reverse speed record :(

This caught my eye, as I've seen the same problem with Exchange since
embarking down that road 6 months ago :( Migrating from a iPlanet Msg.
Server environment where  backus were never an issue (no issues, except
from Outlook whiners, oh how I miss iPMS & Corporate Time), it's quite
disconcerting.

I too have dropped back to weekly-only mailbox backups.

Is slow mailbox backups a Legato issue only or more widespread? As I
understand it the Legato module uses an Exchange utility to perform the
job (showing my Unix-centric Windows ignorance). How lame. If just Legato,
then how are folks backing up individual mailboxes? Using another product?
What are the better alternatives. What's the best strategy? How can this
happen in 2005?
