In regard to: [Networker] Netware restore problem - unable to receive?,...:

Networker 7.1.3 on Solaris (on the server)

This issue has been raised (by me and others) on the list several times
in the past three months.  You need to request a patch from Legato.

Version 7.1.3 (and version 7.2, I believe) broke recovery of continuation
savesets.  Continuation savesets are used by pre-V6 clients to break a
saveset that's bigger than 2 GB into 2 GB chunks.

If your backup results in a saveset that is < 2 GB is size, you will be
able to recover any file that was backed up in that saveset.

If your backup requires continuation savesets, then none of the "chunks"
(I think this also includes the base chunk, the one without the <N>
appended) will be recoverable until you've applied the patch on the server.

Does anyone know why that is, or of a patch/work-around?

There's a patch.
