We run StorageTek SN3400 FC/SCSI bridges which are essentially
Crossroads 10000 units that are rebranded. We had some issues in the
earlier firmware (4.x), but since 5.x has been installed, the units are
very solid for us. We are running QLOGIC 2340 HBAs, but they have a
pretty crappy utility for persistent bindings, so we are moving to
Emulex HBAs for the backup servers.

For what it's worth.

Cheers,
Jim

Hi all,

our 6.1.4 server has currently 3 SCSI cards for our 5 LTO1 drives and
another two ones for the staging devices. Now we are planning the new
hardware, and I thought of a server with one FC card and one SCSI/FC
bridge
with 5 SCSI cchannels. The reason for this is:

- the new server does not need lots of PCI-X slots
- perhaps this will be the beginning of a SAN ;-)

Can you recommend one vendor or model of such a bridge?

Olaf
