Are you using Unix or Windows? Under Unix you could prevent the
recognition (after you've deleted the original barcodes in NetWorker)
by simply clobbering the first 64K on the tape - e.g.:

dd if=/dev/zero of=/dev/rmt/0cbn bs=32k count=2
