The reason it was not working was due to me having mucked up the -s flags. It is fine now with -s servername - the -i is not necessary.

However I got sidetracked when I did an rpcinfo -p and it showed nothing, even after fixing the -s flags, not even on localhost.

nsrexecd has had it's own portmapper for some time. It listens on a different port, obviously, so rpcinfo cannot find it. This was added for customers who do not want to run the system portmapper. And nsrd will still try and fall back to rsh to backup the client if nsrexecd is not available.
