I have a NetWorker system with a shared library. The storage nodes are a
mixture of Solaris and HP-UX 11.11, and the tape drives are IBM
Ultrium-1. On the Solaris storage nodes and some of the HP-UX storage
nodes, I am seeing good compression figures, with anything between 200GB
and 500GB on each tape. On four of the HP-UX storage nodes I am seeing
no compression at all, the tapes fill at 103GB or 104GB. I cannot see
what the difference is between the HP-UX nodes that compress and the
ones that don't - they are all using the stape driver and mnb style
device names. I assume this is something to do with the options used on
mksf, but can't work out how to fix it. Are there any HP-UX gurus out
there who can advise me please?
