Fedora 3 now supports CIFS shares.
We have had to go back to SAMBA shares to over come the problem.
The nsrd process core dumps if we have CIFS shares mounted.
Well it did core dump until we upgraded the NetWorker client software to
7.1.3 from 7.1.1
Now it just does the following;

* data-dev2:/boot 1 retry attempted
* data-dev2:/boot save: exited on signal 8
* data-dev2:/usr/local 1 retry attempted

* data-dev2:/usr/local/comms 1 retry attempted
* data-dev2:/usr/local/comms save: exited on signal 8
We have tried debugging the problem, though no useful information is listed.
This platform is not on the supported list from Legato, even though it will
be eventually. Don't really want to log a call with them yet.

Actually, I think it was FC2 that we had trouble with as a Networker
server. Many and various SCSI issues, specifically on the Jukebox
(Qualstar, 126 slot, 3 drive - AIT3). I don't think there are any
specific
problems with the AIT drives and FC3.
Where are the CIFS volumes?
SAMBA file shares on Linux machines? I'm trying to understand what the
filesystem architecture is that you have?
