In regard to: Re: [Networker] Windows 7.1.2. vs 7.1.3, Librado Pamintuan...:

The NetWare clients are running NWv4.21 and I already did the
'NSR_SPPORT*****' variable for the Unix environment.
I can browse the server's indexes from the clients.

We don't have the 4.21 client anywhere -- we're using 4.22 on all
our NetWare boxes. Perhaps that's related?

What about your Windows NT and Windows 2000 clients? What version
of the client software are they running? I'm frankly more surprised
that you're having backup issues with the Windows clients.
You showed the error message you get from the NetWare client, what about
the error message(s) from the Windows clients?

I haven't tried the 'aliases yet', how do you go about that?

Basically, you want to make sure that the "Aliases" box in the client
set up has all of the aliases it needs, and no aliases that it doesn't.
:-) Yeah, that's really vague, but it depends a lot on your client
config.

In our case, we had many clients that had been configured with too many
client aliases. By paring down the Aliases for clients that had backup
problems, specifically removing any unqualified hostnames from the Aliases
section, we've been able to eliminate most of the backup problems we saw
when we first went to 7.1.3.
