All,

I'm trying to use Legato 6.1.4 server to do backups for
approximately 48 clients. This past weekend with a combination of level
fulls and differentials, we backed up ~350GB. This would be a little
more when doing all Fulls, but we're not a *big* environment. We're
using an ATL-P7000 library with 6 DLT8000 drives. To this point I have
been unable to find any way to successfully clone those volumes over the
weekend - either by starting cloning of the savesets in legato or by
running nsrclone from the command line. They run from Saturday into
Monday afternoon and don't get close to completing.

I've heard that others on this list just run back to back full backups
and then send that offsite b/c of the same issues with cloning. However
it seems to me that doing that is at least confusing since when doing a
restore, legato will ask for the second tape + differentials and
incrementals rather than the first. Since clones are supposed to be
exactly the same, we would not truly have a copy in case one of the
tapes went bad.

How are others dealing with this?

Thanks,
Brian
