You probably haven't used the correct block size for your devices.

1. Verify that you're using the correct st.conf, the drive manufacturer 
should have some clue about this.
2. Try setting the block size of the drives to the same value as the one 
in st.conf .

I assume you're running Solaris, since you have a Sun OEM library.
