Disk dumps are easy, and are how we do it.

mysqldump -uroot -pYOURPASSWORD--all-databases > filename

Thats what we use.

Customer is using mysql, and doesn't have a clue about how he's going to
back it up.  I'm about to crack the manuals now, but if anybody wants to
show off their expertise, it'd be appreciated.  Does mysql support a hot-
backup mode, or disk dumps?
