Legato had me check hw / sw compression directives right away.  That is
not the case here.  Thanks for your input.  It is nice to have a
checklist and this is definitely something easy to check and correct.

Hi Irene,

An often overlooked config conflict is using hardware compression with
software compression directives.  That will result in tapes filling up
prematurely.  I've personally seen this - SDLT320 tapes filling up at
70-80GB when h/w and s/w compression was enabled.
