so your individual clients won't go faster but you can backup more clients
at one time to the server

in 6.1.x I've noticed problems with that option but under slightly
different circumstances, you could use static routes on your client or
move the primary server interface to the 1GB NIC

use snoop

no but there is in solaris look at "ndd /dev/tcp \?" for parameter list
not sure where to find what they all mean though.
