It was my understanding that in the 6.1.x releases Networker Auto Clean is
simply time based cleaning (whether the drive needs it or not). I don't
recall it responding to the drive cleaning lights (at least on Quantum
libraries). In 7.1.1 I specifically saw networker responding to the
cleaning light from DLT7000 drives in a Quantum library. Of course, as
mentioned in another post, the DLT7000 drives would erroroneously post
a cleaning signal; we were going through many cleaning tapes and for 7.1.1
turned CDI off for the DLT7000 drive library.

That is, to me it seemed 7.1.1 (with CDI) responded to drive cleaning
signals (but also cleaned the drive every x weeks also). Have people seen
6.1.3 responding to cleaning lights on drives ??
