In regard to: [Networker] Verifying a tape, Herrmann, Dave said (at 9:51am...:
I know I can run scanner <device> to scan a tape a get a listing of all the
datasets on the tape. However I'd like to know if there is a way to run
scanner to only get information for a specific client. If I try to run
"scanner -c <client> <device>" I'm informed I can't use -c without -i or -x
<args>. I don't want to use the -i, as that would rebuild the media and
online indexes for the client, and I'm only wanting to verify it, not
rebuild it.
Would adding `-n' and `-i' do what you want?
