I don't know about the Networker tools for telling the system to look
for indexes somewhere else, but I know I've used the Solaris OS tools to
move large index directories out of the /nsr/index directory while still
being available under that directory.  I don't remember if I made a
symbolic link to another directory, or did a loopback mount (I suspect I
did a loopback mount, but I don't have any directories setup like that
right now.)  In essence, Networker looks under the normal directory for
the index, but the data is actually mounted from another drive.  This
didn't require any Networker changes, although I did the data move when
Networker was offline.
