First post to the list, hoping I've included all the necessary info. So here
goes.

OS on client: SunOS 5.5.1
OS on server SunOS 5.8

Networker version on client 6.0
Networker version on server 6.1.3

Hardware device: Sun StorEdge L280 Autoloader, containing StorEdge DLTTM7000
drive

Using the GUI Networker server with scheduled backups I have not had this
problem.
I run save commands on the client for different directories: save -L -s
<server> -b <pool> /<directories I back up>

On occasion I get the following errors quoted from daemon.log
07/13/04 03:49:32 nsrd: .. saving to pool

on /dev/rmt/0ubn is being terminated because: Media verification failed

This doesn't happen all the time when the tape is full. Sometimes it works
just fine. Another tape in the pool is available in each instance.

It doesn't ever happen when I'm using the GUI with scheduled backup. I've
tried it in different slots thinking it might be a hardware issue. Same
problem.

Any ideas what could be going on here?

Thanks
Gerry Mueller
