hi all,
i have to migrate a networker 7.1 server from old sun-hardware with
solaris 2.6 to a new sun-server with solaris 9. the networker version
stays the same.
situation now:
the nsr-directory is stored on a san-attached storage.
the networker server has informix-, oracle-, lotusnotes-plugins installed.
besides a nt2k-server is acting as storage-node and has also access to
the shared library.
the new server is using another hostname than the existing networker server.
wanted situation after the move:
the existing configuration and indexes are available on the new server.
the nsr-directory is still stored on the san-attached storage.
all plugins are working.
the w2k-storage-node has connection to the new server.
my thoughts for the how-to:
2. install the new server with the same version of networker.
q: do i have to install the plugins again ?
2. make the nsr-directory from the san-storage accessible and mount it
over the local nsr-directory
3. recreate the nsr.res from an nsrsup-output, and change the hostname
within it.
4. delete the existing nsrdb's and start the daemons.
5. once again change the ressources for administrators and usergroups.
6. change the servers-file on the clients and storage-node, and restart
nsrexecd.
anyone who has done this in a similar way ?
or best - ist there a best practice ?
regards, awaiting answers >)
