Just an addendum, this issue is reported in version 7.0 as well.
Legato LGT no in the 7.1.2 fixed bug list - LGTpa60542.

Hendra,

Assuming that you have looked at all your library and drive paramaters - the
unload and eject sleep (etc) there is a issue that springs to mind.

There is a "known" issue where Legato (7.1 and 7.1.1) occasionally reports
that the device is "ready for writing, idle" and then never does anything
with that drive. I have seen this at customer of mine running DDS and at
those that arent.

This specific issue is fixed in release 7.1.2 (look at the fixed bug list
for 7.1.2).

Hope this helps,

Regards,
Riaan

Hi Networkers,

I just upgraded my networker from v6.x to 7.x, no firewall between those
servers.
My SAN environment as below, all server running W2K using DDS sharing
with a HP SDLT drive.
Server A : Backup server/Storage Node, Networker 7.0
Server B : Client, Networker 6.2 (SAN Storage node)
Server C : Client, Networker 6.2 (SAN Storage node)

Three of the servers are grouped into Daily backup group, in normal
condition The DDS operation for above 3 servers should be "Server A will
mount the tape to drive, after finished backup, it unmount the tape then
Server B owns the tape drive and mount the tape for backup then unmount
the tape, Server C then owns the tape drive and mount the tape then
unmount the tape after it's backup completed. Back to Server A to do
indexes backup for server B & C and bootstrap backup"

The problem just arised after we upgrade to networker v7.0 3 days ago,
The problem is after Server A or B or C completed it's backup, tape
wasn't unmounted from drive. The operation just idle. legato could not
continue to backup remaining server because the phisycal drive is
occupied by other server.

What go wrong ? Any ideas....

Hendra
