No, that's not the same.

-L7 actually does a recovery from tape into the index database if
necessary. pre 6.0 never did that.

The man page says -X is the same as -L3.

There's also nsrim -X which does some consistency checking and setting
in both the media and file indexes, but again isn't the same as -L7.

If I found myself in a situation where all the file indexes were gone,
I'd *really* try to find why first. Is there some external process
moving or deleting /nsr/index? Is /nsr/index still there but the
contents missing or is /nsr/index itself gone?

Are there any messages from nsrindexd about the missing indexes?

Aftre gathering any details I could, I'd need to get a copy of the
master server's indexes back. You can do that with either a 'mmrecov'
or by scanning in the last index saveset for the machine. You could use
'mminfo' to find that. (mmrecov might be slightly easier if there's
been no saves run since the indexes were wiped out).

After getting the master server indexes back, a recover on /nsr/index
(with the master indexes excluded) should bring back the rest.
