In bigs env, I have also the prob.
The workaround I found is to fill hosts files correctly,
create the client on the evening and start testing new
client, ajusting pool/group settings the next morning :-)

Hi.

Yes, I've seen this same behavior, in the same pattern, 6.1.3.428, Tru64
UNIX. It just started occurring within the last few months. There is a
solution ID in Legato's online knowledge base, I don't know it offhand.
If
you search on the error message you'll find it, basically it doesn't
offer
any real solution, but it does recognize the condition and identifies
what
will be your new working habits when adding new clients. You don't need
to
restart the server, but if you wait approximately 5 minutes before
running
the savegroup it will complete successfully.

Howdy,

Our Networker server, v6.1.3, on HP-UX 11i, recently started exhibiting
an odd behavior that is more of an inconvenience than anything.

When I add a new client to the Networker server via nwadmin (and I also
install the appropriate Networker client on the client machine), if I
put the new client into a Networker group and then start the group, I
get the following error (client name foo.bar.com):

foo.bar.com:/ save: SYSTEM error: `foo.bar.com' is not a registered
client

If I shut down the Networker server and restart it, everything works
fine. It doesn't matter what the client is. It can be Solaris, HP,
Windows, Novell, what have you.

There is nothing that changed on the Networker server. We've been
running v6.1.3 for about a year now, and I believe this annoyance only
started happening about 4 months ago, so as far as I recall, I have
previously been able to add a client to Networker 6.1.3 and be able to
back up the client without a server restart (I might be wrong - it may
never have worked without a restart).

Because we don't add many clients, its something I can live with. I'm
just curious if anyone else has had this behavior.
