Michael,
To the best of my knowledge Networker 6 and up will not allow or worse,
not work properly, with indexes on NFS.
Please double check if your indexes get updated during the backup and
then saved to tape.
Also please remember that symbolic links are backed up as links so
normally Networker will not follow links to your linked
directory/filesystem.
