Do you verify those volumes periodically?

In the past (probably 5.5) I had some issues with very high compression
tapes appearing (DLT 7000s with over 150GB reported), and it turned out
that the tapes had become corrupted, with some data being overwritten.
Networker never told me about it, but if you checked the volume with
scanner, it would complain that the first file on the tape was file #62
(as an example). I never was able to determine if it was a problem with
Networker, the OS tape drivers, or the tape drives themselves.

Ever since I've run periodic scans on my very high compression tapes
just to make certain things haven't gone south.
