I would recommend it. 5.5.1 is now more than 4 years old. There are
performance improvements and many bug fixes since then. However 5.5.1 on
Unix isn't quite as crippled as 5.5.1 on NT.  ;-)

You can change the size of the cutoff, but I think you can only go as
far as 4GB, this probably won't help you enough.
