It's likely you have a recursive directory or a directory that is too
"deep" for legato to backup. We had this problem and it was caused by a
developer that had a bug in a program that created a directy that was
nested hundreds of levels deep. What version of OnTap and Legato are you
using? What NDMP version are you running on the netapp? 

On the NetApp, use "ndmpd version" to check like:

pur-sv-filer1> ndmpd version
ndmpd highest version set to: 4
