As an experiment you could switch off CDI support at the device level in the
GUI : MEDIA -> DEVICES -> (DEVICE) -> CDI = not used

some problems on my drives went away after not using the new scsi interface
(CDI) anymore in 7.0.

it seems that the new messages coming back from the new device drivers (by
legato) confused legato neworkers behaviour.
