Hello all,

I'm currently in the process of migrating from Arkeia to Legato as a
backup solution. One of the features I used with Arkeia, and that I'd
like to use with Legato, is file exclusions.

Arkeia supported two different methods of doing this. First, it could be
done based on a regular expression applied to client configuration on the
backup server. For example, "*.mp3$" would exclude a file that began with
anything (*) and ended with the extension .mp3 (.mp3$), regardless of
where in the backup set that condition existed. The second method was
based on the existence of a hidden file in the directory structure. If
the backup software encounted a file called .ARKNOBACKUP in a Unix file
system or NOBACKUP.ARK on a Microsoft file system, everything in that
directory as well as directories below it would be excluded from the
backup. So if the client was configured to backup "/usr", but there
exists a .ARKNOBAKUP file in /usr/local/tmp, then everything in
/usr/local/temp would be excluded from the backup of /usr.

Does Networker support anything along these lines? I've looked through
the documentation CD, but I can't find anywhere where it talks about file
exclusions.

Thanks in advance,
Roy
